What Is Involved in San Diego Divorce Mediation?
Mediation is a low-conflict alternative to divorce litigation. It isn’t as well-known as divorce litigation, so it is understandable how a lot of clients don’t know what to expect. We are happy to share what is involved in a San Diego divorce mediation session.
First, you make an appointment to come in for an initial consultation. This is a 45-minute meeting that is about getting to know you, your case, and you meeting your divorce mediator. San Diego Family Mediation Center offers this first meeting free-of-charge.
Next, you will choose how you would like to address your divorce. Depending on your circumstances, you may need more or less mediation time. You will work out a date for the next meeting, and a list of documents and information to bring for next time.
Some couples prefer to do a lot of work at home on their own; some prefer to only do their divorce paperwork in the mediation room. Each couple is different, and we are happy to adjust your meditation time to fit with your specific needs.
