Our Core Values
West Coast Family Mediation Center is here to help you and your family deal with conflict constructively and find ways to improve communication, solve problems, and reach agreements on legal and non-legal issues. Litigation can destroy relationships, but mediation helps preserve relationships by getting to the heart of the issues that are causing conflict and finding new ways to resolve them. Below are our core values that reflect how we approach each and every case.
Authenticity
In mediation, we build an atmosphere of trust and openness to support a new vision of life moving forward.
Compassion
We foster self-determination by encouraging our clients to hear and understand other perspectives.
Openness
We honor the courage and compromise that goes into coming to the mediation table and promise to always be open and transparent with our process.
Flexibility
Our clients’ challenges aren’t always straightforward or simple. Along with our legal knowledge, our mediators are creative and curious to discover unique solutions that both clients can get behind.
About Our Mediators
All of our mediators have their law degrees (Juris Doctor (JD)) and most of our mediators are also Certified Divorce Financial Analysts (CDFA™).
They all have extensive mediation training, divorce financial knowledge, and experience mediating many different types of family cases. Our founders, Jennifer Segura and Amanda Singer, co-authored a chapter on blended family mediation that was featured in Putting Kids First in Divorce: How to Reduce Conflict, Preserve Relationships and Protect Children During and After Divorce (2016), which is an Amazon #1 Best-Selling Book on Divorce & Separation. They are contributing authors to Living Together, Separating, Divorcing: Surviving During a Pandemic (2020) and Family Conflict in a Pandemic: Stories of Struggle and Hope (2021).
Jen and Amanda were also featured in the April 2020 edition of SD Voyager, a prominent local magazine.
